The Chamber of Commerce building was built in 1879 and was originally Italianate. It is found on 120-124 N. Michigan Street. The building originally had an iron facade and three storefronts. The pillars in the front of the building were added to show strength and security to satisfy the customers. It was built by Marcus A.O Packard, Plymouth’s first attorney. Mr. Packard was founder of the First National Bank and was elected to Indiana’s House of Representatives twice. Two of the buildings three stores were a drug store and a sporting goods store.
